Anthony Jay Houston

Vice President of Potts & Pans, Anthony Jay Houston is both a performer within the ensemble and one of its directors. Houston started his musical training with piano lessons at age 5, and added percussion lessons at age 10 when he joined his middle school band. Continuing in music, Anthony eventually added voice lessons, and participated in multiple bands and choirs throughout high school. He studied under Jim Leslie at the University of Dayton towards his Bachelors in Music Education, and later Ed Harrison at Roosevelt University towards his Masters in Percussion Performance. Anthony has a focus on jazz vibraphone, and has performed solo or with a variety of jazz combos throughout Chicago. When not playing vibes, he can most often be seen playing double seconds or bass pans with Potts & Pans, or directing one of P&P’s community steelbands. You can keep up with Anthony on his website, facebook, or twitter.
